Softwood Logs to Place Announcement
Conifers lead as raw materials in the production of wood for various needs - construction, manufacture of various products, paper. Wood has good mechanical and decorative properties, it is biologically stable. The cost of producing softwood varieties compared to deciduous ones is less. The most popular are pine, spruce, cedar, larch.
The Tyumen Machine Tool Plant produces equipment for industrial processing of wood of any species and mechanization of loading. The equipment improves the quality of lumber and the profitability of production in general.
Durability
The high demand for softwood lumber is largely due to high strength indicators. The stronger the wood, the more durable it is due to resistance to damage and the greater the load it can withstand. Strength is determined by the combination of characteristics - density, humidity and hardness.
Softwood density
Density is the ratio between mass and volume. The densest of the conifers is larch, followed by cedar, pine, spruce and fir. The density of freshly chopped conifers is 30% higher. The hardness depends on the density, the higher the density, the heavier the wood and the worse the treatment. Dense rocks make more abrasion-resistant floors and stairs, but they absorb an antiseptic worse.
Humidity indicators
Humidity depends on the porosity of the wood and the state of the environment. After drying, about 8-14% of the moisture remains in the lumber. If stored incorrectly, they can deform and crack, so proper drying is given great importance.
For interior decoration, wood is suitable for 8-12% humidity, for construction - 14%. The highest humidity is in fir, followed by cedar, spruce, pine, larch.
Coniferous Trunk Structure
Since conifers appeared before deciduous trees, the structure of coniferous wood is simpler. If you take a sleep, you can see the central part is the core, and the secondary wood with many concentric circles is the sapwood. On the outside, the tree is covered with bark, under which is the forehead - the fibrous part that protects the sapwood, and cambium - a layer of cells that constantly multiply and give an increase in the sapwood.
The rocks that form the real core, which includes phenolic substances, are called nucleus. These include: pine, cedar, larch, yew, cypress, juniper. Conifers that do not have a real core are called ripe wood - this is spruce, fir.
Coniferous Benefits
Important qualities such as strength and density were considered above, but another advantage of conifers is the correct shape of the trunk with fewer defects. The height of the pine reaches 40 m, and spruce 50 m, which makes it possible to obtain lumber of greater length and increases the yield of finished products.
Due to the presence of resins, wood has a pleasant smell, it has antibacterial properties, which is especially valuable in the construction and decoration of the house. The resin prevents the appearance of microorganisms, fungi, thereby protecting the wood from destruction.а.
