Logging Equipment
PURPOSE AND TYPES OF LOGGING EQUIPMENT
The use of this equipment depends on the specifics, complexity, and scope of operations performed. Main stages of timber harvesting:
tree felling;
removal of the bark, circumcision of the crown and branches;
tracking;
cutting, cutting;
sorting by established features, stacking;
transportation to the destination.
For each stage, a certain type of logging equipment is intended. All types of equipment have high requirements for reliability, economy, performance, safety and functionality.
Logging machinery can be divided into two categories:
replaceable attachments mounted on an excavator. This allows you to quickly repurpose it to solve specific problems
self-propelled machines equipped with certain equipment.
Logging equipment is produced on a tracked or wheeled chassis. The first option is characterized by better cross-country ability and increased stability. Such machines are optimal for working on viscous, loose, hot soils, on extreme off-road. They are able to overcome the storm and deadwood. But they need to be delivered to the place of work by special vehicles.
Wheel models are inferior to them in stability and off-road qualities. However, they are faster, more maneuverable and able to get to the site on their own.
In terms of functionality and scope, logging equipment is divided into the following types: rolling, skidding, loading, transport, processing (sawmills).
ROLLER SPECIAL EQUIPMENT
These machines are designed to roll the forest by cutting down or snacking on the trunks. They also trim the twigs and crown. Equipment was originally installed on self-propelled models. As for replaceable tooling, it consists of three components:
main working unit. This includes a grip manipulator and a cutting tool;
swivel assembly. It provides rotation of the main working unit about its axis;
mounting and fastening devices for fixation of equipment on tractor or excavator.
For cutting thick barrels, mechanisms with a chain cutting element are used. All equipment is connected to the hydraulic system of the machine on which it is installed.
Mechanized machinery for timber felling is divided into the following varieties:
harvester. This is a machine on a self-propelled chassis designed for the primary processing of material. Harvester fills the forest, removes the branches, and then saws the trunk onto the logs. A special head allows you to trim the tops. It also makes it possible to stack logs and whips;
mulcher. This is a mini-tractor that cleans the area of young growth and shrubs. It is also used to create fire strips and lay a cutting area;
bulldozer. This is a multifunctional self-propelled equipment. In logging areas, it is used to prepare and clear the area for rolling, writhing stumps, laying roads in forests;
rolling and packing machines. They are used for the forest's disinterested felling. This is a technique on a tracked chassis with balance suspension, which allows it to move through the most difficult terrain.
Its main feature is the ability to cut holes of large diameters, followed by stacking for transportation. The standard functionality of the rolling and packing machines can be expanded by equipping with additional equipment.
