The essence of the technology


The production of the house set is carried out in accordance with the project of the future house. Glued timber is a product of a high-tech chain consisting of several consecutive steps: Preparation of raw materials. Wood undergoes strict quality control with sorting by physical and mechanical properties; poor quality raw materials (with visible defects) are rejected. This selection of material takes place at each stage.

Sawing logs onto boards. Boards (lamellas) of longitudinal, radial or semi-radial sawing are used to make high-quality glued bars. Small companies purchase finished lumber, large producers have their own sawmill. To reduce wood losses, sawing is carried out on modern computer-controlled equipment. Depending on the size of the log, the smart machine selects the optimal cutting scheme.

Drying. It may be carried out under natural conditions, but chamber drying is preferred. Responsible step determining the properties of future lumber. A conscientious manufacturer dries blanks in a soft, gentle mode; this takes longer, but allows the humidity level to be leveled and the internal stress, which can cause the finished bars to be curved, to be reduced. Computerized equipment allows you to monitor and adjust the humidity of wood directly in drying chambers. Composed of such lamellae, the glued bar will not be subject to buckling or cracking.

Application of glue. After the initial treatment (tack and end face), glue is applied. Various compositions are used, but all of them are mandatory certified for such work. Pressing. Dried lamellas (with a humidity of 8-12%) are assembled according to the scheme (often from several species of wood, to give additional strength) into bags. The cross section of the bar can vary over a considerable range, which will not change the characteristics of the product. The blank is then pressed in and held under pressure until fully bonded.

Processing. The glued blanks are re-lubricated (surface smoothness treatment). Milling. After strength sorting, the bars are profiled and cut to the desired length. Mounting cups (longitudinal slots of heat locks), holes for communications and pins (studs) are cut filigree on them.

Finishing works. The set of bars is treated with antiseptics, marked and packed.

The nuances of technology


The physical characteristics of the glued bar are significantly superior to those of conventional wood or even profiled bars. The first "popularizers" of the technology were Finnish houses made of glued timber, which are famous for their reliability and durability and are almost the standard for wooden housing construction. The quality of the material used in the construction is the result of a rather complex and thorough processing of the feedstock, which takes place in several stages with strict quality control.

Undoubtedly, an important condition for compliance with the "Finnish quality" is technical equipment and high-quality raw materials. This equipment allows you to automatically manufacture house kits with a manufacturing accuracy of up to 0.3 mm, including connections: dovetail, Tyrolean lock, Gerber joint and bay window elements from any angle.
